Apps
The Apps tab: your file transfers, your preset messages and the import from BeeBEEP 5, and the games you play alone or with your contacts.
For: users · From BeeBEEP 6.0.0 · Updated on
The Apps tab holds what BeeBEEP does besides chatting: its tools and the games you installed. It is always there, even with no game, so your tabs never move.
On a computer the menu Apps lists the same tools and games.
In progress
When a game or a tool is going on -- a game waiting for answers, a game being played, one put aside -- it is listed at the top:
- Start now starts a game with whoever has accepted so far.
- Open shows a game you are playing again.
- Resume picks up a game you put aside.
- End stops it, after asking End this session for everybody?. A game you play alone ends without asking.
Tools
- File transfers lists the files being sent and received, with their progress. A dot beside it says something is pending or moving; the arrows at the top of Chats open the same list.
- Preset messages are texts you write once and send again with a tap. You add, change, move and delete them here; the + beside the message field sends them (tips).
- Import from BeeBEEP 5.x brings your contacts, groups, profile and saved chats from an old installation on the same computer (the archive). It is there on a computer only.
Games
Each game you installed has a row with its name and the ways to play it:
- Play plays it on your own, on this device only: nothing is sent to anyone. On a computer the game opens in a window of its own; on a phone it opens in the tab, and when you leave it a bar at the top brings it back. Closing it asks nothing: the game remembers where you were, and Play again goes on from there.
- Play with... lists your contacts with the reason under the ones who cannot play now ("Does not have BeeChess", "Offline"). Choose who plays and tap Invite: the invitation arrives as a card in their chat, and the game opens once everybody has accepted.
A game that has more than one way to play asks which first.
Install from file... installs a game you received as a file ending in .beebundle. BeeBEEP checks it before it installs anything, and says what it found.
